I like to consider myself an amatuer plane spotter. So for me living near gatwick which has airport parking has its benifits such as I can sit in my garden with my binoculars and a notepad and watch the planes go by. But it gets stranger, I sometimes even see bird watchers looking for those once a year little critters that are very hard to spot. If they lived where I did, they could have save themselves countless hours sitting in the cold waiting for the bird to show. Meanwhile im having a coffee on a couch in my garden.
Also I think if your job is near the airpoirt it is very benefical to live close by as well. One of my friends actually worked as shoe cleaner in the airport and he litterally got hom and walked 20mins into work everyday.
So I don't think its all bad, as it depends on how you look at it.
The other day I was on my way to the airport when all of a sudden I remembered that I forgot my password. What I didn't know was that for the whole time it was stuck in the bottom of the luggage. So like any other person would do, 2miles from the airport I turned around and gassed it all the way home, parked badly infront the house and dashed in to look for the document.
I eventually found it, but not after being late for my flight, which I made because I parked at the airport.
